About this speaker
Ger McTavish studied Sport science in TUI Dublin and has spent many of her years in the sporting fields of outdoor education, sport science performance, youth development and cultural planning.
In August 2011, Ger became the first Diversity and Inclusion officer in a sporting organisation and challenged the sporting bodies across the world to create more opportunities to help disabled people, the LGBT communities, ethnic minorities and to help communicate the voices of the excluded and diverse. She has worked on Human rights programs with the Council of Europe and is an advisor to the Irish Human Rights Commission in Ireland.
Advisor of best practices to the family of Gaelic Games, GAA, LGFA, Camogie, Handball & Rounders. Previous experience as club development manager with Special Olympics Ireland and the Irish Athletic Boxing Association (IABA). Ger is an experience sports presenter on the Irish channel TG4, a motivational speaker and has a huge grĂ¡ for her Irish language, sports, arts, and culture.
